“May I ask you one thing?”
“Yes, of course. What is it?”
“Are you from India?”
“Umm…errr…because you are wearing a turban?!”
This dialog actually happend this week with a guy while I was wearing the outfit you can see in the photos.
At first I was very confused and upset about it, because: this dude was serious about it and it was very hard for me to believe that someone could be that stuck inside stereotypes.
How is it possible that in our modern society people are still thinking about “races” and their stereotypes than about people, individuals?
On the other hand: why am I asking myself this question as America decided to vote for Donald Trump who discriminates so many different groups of persons?
If you ask me it was a pretty shocking week, but I don’t want to focus on this issue on today’s post…
I was always pretty fond of vintage and old fashion. I love things with a history and as I’m interested in different decades (also in fashion issues) it’s no suprise that sometimes a whiff of other times comes up in my looks and of course the turban hat is one of those pieces as it has it’s origin in the 20ies.
I gave this certain guy a little history lesson so he may think about it the next time he sees somebody who’s look is special in any way… 😉
Let’s not focus on the turban hat or crazy people, let’s talk about the look.

Sometimes good things take it’s time so it took me a while to get on track with the metallic trend which is happening for a while now, but who cares? I’m on it from now on. ♥
Copper, silver, rosequartz and gold in one look…how is that even possible?
For a long long time I practiced one of the golden rules in fashion: decide for one metallic color, don’t mix and match.
But you know what? Maybe those rules are a little too old-fashioned (haha, funny! 😀 😉 ). Why not wear socks in sandals? Why not wear red as a redhead? Why not mixing up metallics?
It’s nonsense. If you can make it work – just go for it.
I combined a rosequartz colored slit dress with a silver colored turban hat and gold jewelry while having copper colored hair.
I don’t care, I just like the outcome… 😉
