(scroll down if you know my blog history already or are more interested in the fun part of this post 😀 )
Today is a very special day for me! It’s my second blog anniversary and I’m still so happy I started this project in 2015.
I had a very unique style ever since. My friends and family always told me that I used to dress somehow different.
So one day I decided that blogging might be it for me…
A way for me to share my thoughts and ideas upon fashion- and lifestyle issues. With this vision in my head and the encouragements of the people around me I created a Lookbook account in 2012.
Three years later I bought my URL, registered myself in Instagram and blogged on a regular basis.
But blogging isn’t always easy and the first steps are always the hardest.
This is why I decided to share the best (in your eyes) and also the worst looks and shots over the last two years with you!
So let’s start with
I picked out your favorite looks upon the most likes on IG. Over the last few months those are the following.
The first one is the 5k look I created wearing a suit by H&M (which you can find here), the second features my wonderful Zara Studio trench (here) and the third one was created with my beloves Gucci shoes (here).
Looking through my older looks and all those shots taken the year 2016 was dominated by a lot of close-ups. Today there are still one or two close-ups of my face but I don’t do it as often as in the past anymore. You want to see my look not my face, right? And as I’m no beauty blogger at all I’m going to keep it that “new” way.
In the first photo I’m wearing my best purchase 2016: the blue velvet H&M AW Studio dress (more here). The second is also a dress look wearing a great embroidery one by VIPme (see it here). The last one is also one of my favorites: the metallic look (here).
Those last three looks from 2015 aren’t available on this blogpage.
Not because I don’t want them to be seen by you guys (you can still see those on IG) but I changed the whole blogtheme and URL at the beginnig of 2016 and the older looks were deleted through this progress. I have to say that I think my styling and photography skills developed a lot since the beginning. My IG theme is mostly white with pops of color here and there. I don’t have to sit all desperate in front of my closet anymore to see what works and what doesn’t. I had some crazy and also pretty embarrassing looks at the beginnig.
So let’s focus on the funniest shots and start with
I’m not perfect at all and I don’t want to pretend I am.
I’m a normal human being and I do normal human being stuff. Even though all my photos try to make the best of me and smother the fact that I’m a pretty weirdo sometimes I have to admit that I’m still me. And me inculdes making stupid jokes, laughing like Godfather death (according to some friends) and looking like a potato on Sundays.
Showing those outtakes to my boyfriend raised the question if those aren’t to hard to show to you. Not because I look creepy or ugly but also if I’m strong enough to show them to you.
Am I confident enough to be honest about myself and to let you see me from another point of view?
And I think I am.
I am because I love perfect Instagram feeds and perfect blogposts. But those aren’t the truth and they sometimes spread a wrong message and perception of the person behind the blog. I’m the person on top of the page as well as I am the person on those images.
In the 2015 shots you can see a lot how much I changed. I used a lot of filters back then and my style wasn’t as firm and “grown-up” as it is now.
I have to say that those shots are what makes me proud of the person I am today.
I’m confident, I know my place in life and I learned a lot since the last two years.
Let me know what you think of this very honest and personal post!
Lots of love,
