Rachel Zoe is totally right with this statement.
I’m absolutely no fan of the cold months, especially those of winter, but well-made layering can be absolutely stunning.
Coats are a big topic when talking about layering but also getting dressed in winter in general.
In Germany not a day goes by leaving the house sans coat. If you don’t want to look boring or the same every day you have to have a wide selection of different models. And also for different temperatures.
When I buy a coat it’s important to me to make sure that it can be easily combined. Monochrome variants or simple patterns such as checks and pinstripes are ideal for this.
However, there are coats that sting immediately. The same was true for the leopard coat which I wear here.
What makes a statement coat?
Vibrant, vivid colors, extravagant cuts or eye-catching patterns and details can be the key here.
I often have written that it is important for me to build a look around a certain garment. Mostly these are pieces like blouses, pants or accessories. Outfits in which the main actor is the coat, I have created less often.
The question I asked myself as I hold this leopard dream in my hands was:
How TO STYLE A STATEMENT COAT?
First thought which came to my mind: let the coat do the talking.
Do you have a statement coat in your wardrobe?
BTW: Anyone else but me who is making a science of how to put together an outfit?
