How to dress for the Vatican

Orange seems to be one of my favorite colors right now.

Which I never expected honestly.

I avoided vivid and and bold colors as much as I could so far. But this summer was all about orange for me.

An orange jumper, orange skirt, orange head band…it seemed like I couldn’t stop shopping orange pieces.

I thought the color might look strange with my hair…

Anyways.

When Rafia and me were in Rome I decided to wear this look to the Vatican.

You have to cover your shoulders and knees when you want to visit the St. Peter’s Basilica so this look was perfect. It’s super hot in Rome in August so you don’t want to wear too heavy things. The skirt is very lightweight because the overlain fabric is mesh and the underskirt is a bit shorter than you expect it to be 😉

I combined it with a beautiful shirt which says Fiori (Fiori means ‘Flower’ in Italian) which I found in the Zara TRF section just before we left Germany. So maybe if you are lucky you might still find it.

To cover my pale skin from the sun beams I wore a straw hat which goes perfectly with the wonderful vintage bag by my Mum.

How do you like orange? Are there any colors you try to avoid because you think they don’t suit you?

Wishing you guys a great start into the new week!

Lots of love,

By the way: We took those shots on the Piazza Cavour right before leaving to the Vatican. It’s an unbelievable place! I highly recommend you to go there and enjoy the beauty!

Really can’t wait to share my “Rome Travel Diary” with you soon. Is there anything you are interested in? Any questions or concerns? Let me know! ☺
